Good Morning! Miko here. As of the past 4 meals, I have been a member of the clean plate club for the first time in....um...forever! Dad accidentally bought vanilla yogurt instead of plain. I LOVE IT!!! Dad wanted me to ask if a spoonfull (or two) of lo-fat VANILLA yogurt is good for me or not....PLEASE SAY IT'S GOOD, PLEASE SAY IT'S GOOD!!!!

Thanks,
Miko

Ah! Gene asked my question! The occasional creamy whip is enjoyed thoroughly and of course, that is vanilla. I would love to give her a bit of flavor than just the plain yogurt.

But then I've also heard dogs really can't taste much :?:

Gene ... beautiful picture of Miko! Somehow you have to figure out how to get BOTH their portraits into Avitar :?

Miko, you beautiful girl! Yes, it is great! Tell him just to be sure he doesn't get any with artificial sweetner...real sugar is okay in small amounts, like a taste or two of your favorite treat!

Miko is a beauty. Are dogs allergic to artificial sweetener or is it just a general health thing? Like it isnt too good for us either. I was thinking of adding some yogurt for some calcium.

Denver gets a full cup of yogurt every second day
vanilla, pineapple, peach or kiwi.(his favs)
I do not like artificial sweeteners for humans or animals so
he gets the regular full fat versions.(he was getting some of the low fat versions but I switched)
All with my vets approval. I know quite a few older dogs of varying breeds who have been fed yogurt their whole lives
and are very healthy.
They are the reason that I asked my vet her thoughts on feeding yogurt
to begin with.

OMG Miko who could resist that face, certainly not me, you'd be getting the vanilla yogart at my house

I'm allergic to dairy so can't have yogart anymore, therefore AB hasnt had it.

I did feed it to my labbies and they loved it, they usually each got about a tablespoon of mine when I got to end of cup - it was usually raspberry flavor - never bothered either of them.

Loved this thread! Now I know what to do with all the yogurt we buy for my kids that threatens to go bad since they lose interest after 2 or 3 containers (we buy the multi-packs - full fat). :D

Just gave Cody a Diego Peach and he's still trying to get the last molecules off his bowl! LOL
