Hello to all!
Welcome to the newbies!
It's Jane, here...as in cocoandjane........
I am among the older crowd....June 1st~ I turned 55!!
Don't know how that happened!
My husband is 61 and is a workaholic!
I don't expect him to ever retire.
If he does, I will sling a hammock in the shed
and move out there! Ha!
Not really, but he is wired so totally different
than I am....I will have to give him projects if he does retire...
to keep the antsy-ness away....it drives me nuts.
The air fills with fritzy anxiety,
if he doesn't have enough work to do!!
Giving him any "work" will do though,
~laundry, (we wear clothes he has shrunk and dyed the wrong color  )
....weed-eating, (never mind the cypress vine, or monkey grass he manages to chop off in the process  )
cleaning the garage...but don't expect to ever find anything again!!!!
Besides the honey-doos, he will have to find his own jobs to work on, too.
Ha! :?
He is such a dear and I have loved him for 33 years!!
Geesh!
I have two step-children:
Cristy - 43 yrs. old...always lived with her mom in NC.
She has 2 boys, 20+24.
My sons are uncles to my step-grandsons who are older than they are.....is there math involved here?
Bryan - 37 yrs. old...lived with us from age 7-17.
(He moved out on his own,
or nearly on his own...he knew everything at such a young age...
if you get my drift.)
He is married now and has a son; 6 1/2 yrs. old
....a very, very bright boy.
Scary bright!
Sarah Jane was born in 1979
and passed away in "84
at 5 yrs old. Just after her first birthday
she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer....
She would be 28~ this October.
So~ it was sort of like having one family
with Bryan and Sarah and then~
she was gone and Bryan moved out 5 years later~
when these next two boys were very small.
Robby - 21 yrs. old~slowly finishing college and working....
Philip - 18 yrs old.....is finishing his last year of high school finally.
He now knows everything, too!! ( )
YIPPEE!!
We homeschooled these last two for 1 thru 12 grades
and this is the final year!!
I started Sarah when she was 3...she was so easy!
I learned the hard way the boys weren't ready as early
as she was, so I ended up holding them back...
then they were fairly easy.
We have had 2 Irish Setters, and two litters of setter pups, a German Shepherd,
a Standard Schnauzer, a Sheltie, 2 cats,
(a lizard, three snakes, a turtle, one hamster,
only because they were good science projects!! )
and now a simply wonderful
F1B CHOCOLATE LABRADOODLE named, Coco.
She is such a joy and as it says in my profile...
she is now who I prefer to "teach" and train ~as opposed to humans.
No papers to grade !!
[By the way, grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, etc.
is all thrown by the way-side when typing on this forum....Sorry.
No grading, please!! ]
Last Friday, we visited with a breeder in northeast Texas
who has a lovely place for her operation!
It was fun to drive out and meet her....it is so green in the countryside for the end of August in Texas! It is unbelievable!!
We are considering becoming a guardian home for her.
She has beautiful dogs and it would get our feet wet,
so that we could learn the business with her as a mentor
and have a few litters of our own one day.
Maybe that would be the retirement job
Steve could be busy with....
He is absolutely in love with Coco and
is eager to have another doodle for her to play with.
Me, too!!
Funny how life changes people....
we have nearly divorced over dog issues in the past...
He was the meany!! Not anymore!!
Good to read about all of you in this section and get to know you a little better!
....sorry to be so long-winded, I always am....
much to my boy's chagrin. :?
Coco doesn't mind, though!!
