I know that summer activity can account for weight drop of a pound or two but Dakota was just weighed tonight and I simply couldn't believe it! He has gone from a normal weight of 77-80 pounds to 72 pounds! Does this percent of body weight loss seem ok?? He is eating very well, not showing any signs of any problem at all and, obviously, is very active. I was just so surprised at the weight loss . . .

my lab loses over 10 a summer then puts it all back on in the lazy winter months!! my doodle looses like 6-7. Seems its like about 10% of their weight. We could call it their bikini figure ;) :) I do give in and add a little more food during the summer.

Denver did lose close to nine pounds and I had
the vet take a look to make sure, but after checking blood etc.
he is fine and the vet believes it is from all the summer activity.
Denver was having two playdates per day and swimming
4 to 5 days a week. He also eats less when he is so active and when the
weather is so warm. Check with your vet as always Diane but it might be reassuring to know that I just went through this with Denver.
