Ive noticed that a few people lately are from Washington State. I live in University Place washington. Im due to get my doodle in October. I would really love to have a doodle romp in our area. I know one person from Puyallup Wa that brings her f1b to the Lakewood dog park. I guess I just am wanting to see how many people are from Wa and see who would all be interested in setting up romps.

I'm on San Juan Island and have 2 doods. I know one other owner here. We have a large farm and would be thrilled to host a doodle romp, if a trip to the islands sounds fun for anyone.....? I'm out of town for two days. Will check back here then.

I also have a neighbor with a multigen labradoodle (we got them from the same breeder "Aladdin Labradoodles" in Blaine, WA. I live in Snohomish which is just east of Everett. I have a 5 month old mini Doodle. I'd love to get together! I think there is another Doodle owner from Seattle but can't remember her name right now. Hope she sees the message here too.

I'm back from out of town and checking back in. If anyone wants to come to San Juan island, we would be glad to host a doodle romp right here at our farm. We have about 5 open acres in front of our house where George and Grace romp all day.

The upside is it's great to come to the islands for a visit and dogs are welcome almost everywhere. The downside is, it's a long way to travel and it can be expensive....Also we are unfenced, though the neighbors are a long way off. My doods have an underground fence.

But we would love to have a romp. Maybe in August, when we're sure the weather will be beautiful.. What do you think?

I wouldnt be able to make it to a august romp. my baby is not due to come to me until October. :( but it would still be cool for it to still happen. I would be first in line for the next romp.

October! What a long wait! Bless your heart, you must be so eager.... Well the island offer still stands and the timing can be adjusted if there are interested folks (except not from November - April....MUD). If you're getting a baby in October, though, you won't want to attend a romp till you have all your shots. Who knows? Maybe we'll start a tradition in the spring!

A few weeks ago I found this post in the forums:

http://labradoodle-dogs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34

So, I emailed Marje and she replied: "I have an entire list of email addresses for doodle owners in and around the area. I previously planned a doodle romp and had about 30+ dogs. I am sure there are many new owners in the area since the romp a year ago, but I've been very busy to organize another. I would be happy to pass the addresses along ... I will be out of town from this afternoon thru may 20th, so it'll be when I return. Thanks. Hope your doodle is as wonderful as can be. We love ours. She's just under two. Marje"

I have not responded to her yet, but I can get the list from her and email it to anyone that wants to step up and organize (I can't really take it on right now - my husband is travelling a lot so I am often on my own with my daughter and our dood).

I am totally interested in a romp but I wonder if we'll get a better turn out if we do it some place more accessible than the San Juans? (As much as I would love an excuse for a weekend in the Islands!) We have some nice off-leash parks in Seattle, but they're not really big. What about Marymoor? Can any eastsiders comment? I know it is B I G!

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Christina - where are you getting your doodle?

Hi Christina-
Where are you getting your multigen Austrailian labradoodle? And what size are you getting? We've had our puppy Roxy for 4 months now (she is 6 months old) and I can't imagine our home without her. I was the one who was the most hesitant to get a dog (since all the work will come back to me) and I am loving it the most! These dogs are so cute and fun! When I go on walks, people stop their car to ask me what kind of dog she is. She looks like a little stuffed animal. I am excited for you! Keep my email address and when you get your puppy and shots are all up to date, let's get the pups together! (I live in Gig Harbor....so close to University Place!).

I read in the paper not too long ago that there will be several dog parks going in Snohomish County in the next few years! That's really exciting. One will be about 5-10 minutes from my house, somewhere between Everett and Snohomish. So maybe some place to consider for a Doodle Romp in the future. :D

Hi Washington Doodlers
I live in Illinois, but all my family is in Washington.[Seattle area]
Every member of my wonderful [and missed] family has multiple dogs,
and they are all very active in canine communities and events. They spend alot of time at dog parks, so I will call them and get information for you. They all treat their dogs like children - so every dog park they frequent must be safe and clean. I am planning a road trip [with my
Doodles] some time this summer. It would be fun to meet all your Doodles -
and their humans.
