Hello and welcome!
Yes...I am afraid it is normal and I do think you are right. I have said many times that these dogs are so smart that they quickly learn when there are no rules...although you have rules and a great support system (which is fabulous!) they will try to figure you out and will be very good at it!
I have puppy-siblings too, we got them when they were 7 weeks old (I didn't know at the time that it was probably too young to get them...a whole different set of problems) and they have been a handful!
I wouldn't have it any other way, however. My husband and I were talking, today, about how nice it is to have raised these two together.
It is very, very important to continue the leash tethering. My favorite trainer said to keep the puppies in a safe place (crate) when they are not being supervised at all times. I believe that this is very good advice.
It is hard to do, in fact, it is hard to have two puppies, but the love and sweetness is twice as good too...so to me it is well worth the extra effort.
We sort of had to relax with our "need" to have a spotless house! There is usually dust everywhere (with 4 dogs rolling in dirt, it is bound to be inside too.)
The most important thing is to keep training, don't let up on that. Insist on good behavior. Don't let them do (as puppies) what you don't want them to do as adult dogs.
Watch out for chewing too...mine destroyed furniture, moulding, rugs, etc., not because they were mean, but because they are dogs and dogs will do what they will if they are not supervised. Soooo, use a crate when you can't watch them.
The pictures posted are carefully selected to not show the "bad days"!
Good luck!

Yes, George and Gracie are adorable! Are they related? They have a very similar look. (I love the names...after George Burns and Gracie Allen?)
Sounds like they had a great Christmas!
Thanks for the nice compliments about our dogs. :D :D
Hmmm, about the crate size. That is a tough one for me because we always let our girls go into their crate together. (Since they were such tiny babies when we got them and I felt they needed each other.)
We had one of those smaller plastic travel crates and put it inside the large crate when they were small and removed it as they got too big. They have always been in the same space.
They use the crate now, only when they want. I rarely have them crated any more because we moved to the mountains where they have room to run and play...we installed doggie doors and they are happy as ever. Our garage is the new crate!
If you want to keep them close, but separate, I'd say to get another crate and put them side by side. They do love that Doodle sprawl! :D (And so do I!)
