OK remember Marley and Me...how they kicked Marley out of class? hhahaaa

Yesterday at 8:30am I pleaded, begged profusely to TAKE MAX out of class and put Peanut in his place. and work with Max at home for now since we really don't go to many public places with our doodles

Guess what? They said NO WAY!
I mentioned that Max was about 3 to 4times as big as the other puppies, about 2 to 3 times their age...outweighed them by 20 to 40lbs and he was a bit TURBOCHARGED and roped burned 2 of my fingers...and helll SURE he can heel all day long!

i was asked: IS Max vicious? NO
Did max attack or inhale any of the puppies? NO
was Max a bit happy and excited? YES to put it mildly!
I was TOLD Max stays, peanut waits....and just wait as Max will surprise me! hahahhahaaa i said "he already did, in the 1st class!"

soooooooooooo DAVE is going to try to take a pic of all these tiny puppies in class with Max amongst them to show y'all HOW FUNNY we both look in class!

while Beau is in a class with mixtures of young and big older dogs.
and Peanut gets to practice sitting and watching

Annmarie...I picture Max acting just like Angel did when she first started!!
I was so embarrassed b/c my dog acted NUTS! She was so excited to see all the other dogs that she couldn't control herself. She would throw herself on the floor and "dig" a sideways hole like a mad woman! The trainer took one look at Angel at the 2nd day of class and suggested the gentle leader. She said that she would usually wait to mention this device for a few more weeks but Angel needed it right then. She did everything short but pull my arm out of my socket! Things did get better and they will for Max, too! Stick with it! It's a new situation for him so look at it as a learning experience for him to learn how to have good doggie manners out in public. Go, Max! You can do it! :D

OK ...what the trainer was trying to tell me(privately) is Max is smart and just needs to calm down a bit as he isnt' out alot mostly plays at home with peanut and beau.

She has her mom's std poodle since her mom died...and said Max has alot of poodle in him. So once he calms down we'll be surprised.
sooooooooo i'll try it out for now as there is 7 classes left
if it works out great...if not so be it.

Max did this last year and really calmed down but we had to drop out when i was ill.

Can't wait to see the PICTURES!!!

I'm not quite sure why they won't take your advice.........I think you're a good judge of what to do with your doodles.

And.......I always thought the poodle had the milder side and the labby side was more excitable. My brother has a standard poodle and he insists Bogie is a bit more hyped because of the Lab side??

The place i go to is great.....years ago i went there with a different dog
what's nice is they really want me to GIVE Max a chance and said the 1st time is hard on everyone and we're all nervous

what's even better is there is a Main trainer and at least 3 to 4 asst trainers to help us out. The main trainer has 20yrs experience and the owner more. NOW max was used 2 times last week to show things like heeling around the whole room weaving in and out around each and every person and their dog. I stood there in shock watching him do great

SO i give it a couple more classes and see how it goes
