(Both) Hey look... a new toy!

(Commentary) Charlie has it!

(Commentary) Now Hershey has it!

(Charlie) If I just cover her face she's bound to let go.

(Hershey) Maybe if I kiss him he'll drop it.

(Both) Tug of war is tiring!

Well, there's a funny story behind the toy. We bought this plain, blue, hard
rubber chew toy at PetSmart for Hershey on her birthday. As soon as we
got it home we remembered that you can't buy one dog something that
the other does not also want (2 of everything, in other words -- worse
than children).

Anyway, as we were buying dog food in Target the other day, we saw the
exact same toy for half the price PLUS it had a rope through the center of
it. Suddenly this became the favorite toy (remember, the toys have to be
IDENTICAL). So, being the great doodledad that I am, I sacrifice a piece
of rock climbing webbing (5000 pounds strength) and run it through the
center of the plain rubber toy. DING!!! It's different and becomes the new
favorite toy.

Oh, by the way, the cheap rope is still holding up better than the 5000
pound test strength nylon webbing. It might be able to hold a car from
falling over the edge of a cliff but it was not match for two doodles!

Don't you just love these wonderful animals?! :D

those are great photos! Yours are funny in that they are both laying down playing tug - when ours play Kirby is laying down and Dex stands up.

So is that toy strong chewer proof? I want to get one (maybe I"ll make a trip to Target this week)

We only get toys for "power chewers." we also bought a basketball for yard play this week and it's holding up well. Our rose bushes are another story (gulp).

I can vouch for those two toys. That blue toy and the basketball are the only toys that Cali has not destroyed. She's still trying to puncture the basketball, but hasn't succeeded after a month of trying. When she isn't trying to bite it, she's butting it around with her head. Somehow she keeps track of where she's going without crashing in to trees, etc. I call it head soccer.
