Well, what started out as an innocent lunch with my wife and kids turned into a trip to the pet store to look at the lizards, snakes, fish, kittens, etc. This trip turned into my daughter begging for another kitten (we already have a cat, a Golden Retriever, and a Shit-zu). The begging turned into us going around town looking for a kitten we liked. This lead to looking in the Sunday paper the next day for kittens. This lead to my finding a number for Labradoodles. This lead to my going to look at said Labradoodles, which lead to my coming home with a Red Labradoodle. So, what started out as a sandwich turned into another large dog.......which leads me to my next comment. Took "Charlie" to the vet yesterday. I thought he looked older than 8 weeks when I got him. I've had 3 golden retrievers and he is bigger than all of them at this age. The vet looked at his chart, looked at Charlie and said, "No way this dog is 8 1/2 weeks old..........he's at least 11-12 weeks." The vet then looked at Charlie's teeth and got a strange look on his face and then said, "Wow, he is 8 1/2 weeks. I haven't seen a puppy this big since the last Mastiff that was in here. Are you sure they didn't sell you a Horseadoodle?"
So, Charlie is 22 lbs at 8 1/2 weeks. So we go from wanting a free kitten to an expensive LARGE dog. Hey, that's what makes life fun right? Charlie is red, which I understand is pretty rare and he's awesome........I guess by next Halloween we can give pony rides on him!
