Miko says it's not an obsession....it's a job and she does it well! Because of her, the squirrels have NOT taken over the neighborhood, or the world!!

Question ... do they ever just completely lose their minds when they see one of these wildlife creatures?

Two nights ago Marc and I were with Ebbe on the back porch. It was dark but a light was on in the basement so you could easily see the path along the side of the house. You could also easily see the raccoon that was trying to get to the backyard! And yes ... Ebbe saw it ... and went nuts! :twisted:
We have never heard her bark so loud, so hard or with so much emotion! I had to take her in the house, but still she carried on running from window sill to window sill looking for that raccoon. It took an hour of gentle petting and massage ... soothing words .... a few treats just to calm her down! :?

Was this normal, or am I looking at huge therapy bills in her future? :shock:

Max yesterday ran about 100pmh in our backyard into the woods after my neighbor's cat that has tantalized him since last OCT and
decided to tease him. :roll: for some reason, Peanut listened and stayed put :shock: :shock:
After 10 seconds which seemed like an eternity to me, Max came back, i swear smiling ear to ear. I had a little "talk" with him which fell on deaf ears i am sure hahhahahaaaaaaaaaa

Mary - our 2 (Kirby especially) seem to lose their minds over squirrels sometimes too. Kirby will obsess over them and nothing will break him of it. We can always break Dex's concentration on something with food...we're working on getting Kirby to do the same (but he's just as food oriented). It's like he can't hear anything and just sees that silly squirrel (or rabbit or cat)!!!

That's It!

It was almost frightening how intense she was ... and then all that adrenaline still pumping even when she was relatively calm!
Makes me a little nervous about how much she'll see when the trees
lose their leaves :shock:

Miko gets very "focused" on the squirrels! She will not pay any mind at all. Usually, when she "ignores" me, I can still see her ears move, but when a squirrel is involved....no ear movement at all!

BTW....we got new fall collars too....next will be the Christmas ones. No, MY doods aren't spoiled at all..... :roll:
