Question. I thawed pork chops out yesterday and forgot about them until they got warm. Although I do not want to feed this to my family, I was thinking about boiling them and making some type of stew to supplement "BO-BO's" dry food. Maybe a gravey if you will. What does every one think of this. The chops never got rotten. Just stayed out too long. :)

I notice that several have looked at your post but it seems no one wants to jump in so I will.

I wouldn't even consider it. I don't know your doodle's stomach but if it isn't something that Tanner is introduced to slowly, he would get terrible diarrhea from such a stew.

I would consider it a learning experience and throw it away

I would just toss them. If its not safe for people, I'd say it wasn't safe for a doodle.

I know my dog can find weird stuff to eat on the street and he survives just fine but I would feel horrible if something I prepared for him made him sick.

Good advice Annie - That might just be asking for an upset stomach, even if the chops aren't spoiled! My rule is - if it's been out too long for me, it's been out too long for Tyke! Her canned food stays out for 30 mins, and if she doesn't eat it, it goes straight to the fridge or garbage can!

Depends how long they sat out, I'd probably eat them myself, but I figure most bacteria dies on a nice hot grill. Waste not, want not.

Either way, I agree with the above. Keep the inside dogs on a good stable diet. Do you have a friend with an outside dog? I know my parents feed their 13 y/o lab left overs all the time, but she is 100% outside and probably not going to make it through the summer anyway. :(
