When I was a kid(many moons ago) we used to go visit
relatives in Connecticut. My father used to love to tell the tale
of how we left our sled dogs at the border along with our 12 feet of snow . Did not matter what time of year it was ,
he would tell this to all
the cousins and his sister in-law and brother. Having never been to
"Canada" they did know know any difference.
They believed that Canada was covered in snow and the only way to get around was with sled dogs.
At the time we lived in Montreal and to our relatives that just meant you lived in Canada and therefore you
must know so and so.
Why am I telling this story now...............because I woke up to one inch of snow this morning, no big deal but it is
April !!!!!!!!!!!!!and all my years in "Canada" I do not remember ever having snow in April..........
My Dad passed away many years ago, but he along with my Mother who has also passed left me with a legacy of wonderful if not true stories
that entertained us for years. The passing of Linda's father made me think of my own dad and how much I miss his stories. So thank you Linda for sharing your Dad's passing with all of us as it brought back some lovely memories for me and in time Linda, you will just have the great stories to replace the grief you feel now, at least that is how it worked for me.
I must go now and hitch up the sled dogs and of course Denver
will be leading the pack.....................
