I've been trying to update the house with paint, flooring, fixtures, etc. Sofie seems very displaced and nervous. I had her with a friend for a couple days at a time. How do your doodles do with change and sometimes chaos in the house?

Well, this isn't exactly the same, but we had our back yard landscaped this week. On the first day I took Cali to doggy day care because I had a lot of errands to run and didn't want her stressing with all the activity with all these strange guys in her back yard. The other two days were fine when I could be home. She could watch from the back door and I was there so she felt okay with it. Overall, she's very calm in nature and not too much phases her. But I haven't changed her world inside the house, so don't know how she'd do. I hope Sofie feels more at ease soon.

Jonah was my little "helper" when I pulled up my carpet in the house. I use the term helper in the loosest sense.... He also "helped me when I put new vinyl tile in the kitchen and bathroom. He'd run off with the knife.....blade in.....the phone, screw driver, etc. The funniest thing he did was he got a piece of the sticky tile stuck to his beard and zoomied all through the house like a crazy man. I just sat there and laughed!!

Saturday ... in the pre-party scramble to get the house clean ... Ebbe's "help" did length the process
But when I was vacuuming the hardwood floor with cannister vac and made it to the living room, I realized I didn't have the attachments with me.
Was ready to run - go - fetch them from the other room when guess who comes out with them in her mouth!
Set them on the floor then went in to annoy DH! My sweet girl!

Gene, this is no doubt going to embarrass you but, as it happens, Annmarie seems to be somewhat ahead of most of us when it comes to diction. If you had taken the time to thoroughly research this in the urban dictionary, as I did, you would know that hosue is a very acceptable, and in this case, appropriate word.

(Annmarie, I'm sure you realize this type of support comes with a price . . .)

Hosue
1. A genre of music that is directly derived through the re-arrangement of existing components found within house tune.

2. May replace the word "house" at any time.
"Oh s___ man, I ripped apart this tune by LSG...I made some whack hosue."

Jim and I have been doing a lot of renovating since we got Boyd and like Mija, Boyd seems to have been desensitized to it. Heck, he even sleeps through the air compressor!

In the beginning Boyd was really curious about all the fun, shiny objects (aka "tools") but now he just sniffs around and then settles and watches us (meaning Jim) work!

I think what I'm getting from your responses is try not to keep her from the chaos but let her explore to a certain degree and perhaps get used to it. Thanks all!
