Has anyone had problems with repeated eye infections?

Tanner repeatedly gets them. We have tried two kinds of drops, now using Tobramycin Opthalmic, for 10 days. He is fine for a week or two then it starts up again.

Sorry to hear that

- AB has never had an eye infection, she gets poodle goobers, I just keep her eye area cleaned every day, warm washcloth works wonders if goobers are crusty

I spoke with the vet this AM. We are treating again with the antibiotic eye drops (I think this is the fifth time). If he gets another infection he will see an eye specialist. I do clean the eye boogers out daily with a warm washcloth. I am going to try some herbal eye wash solution after we finish with the antibiotic.

Does he have ear infections too? I wonder if he is re-infecting himself by rubbing with his paws. I guess you can't sterilize his feet. Still I'd consider bathing him with a good anti-bacterial shampoo and making sure his ears are clean.

His ears are clean and he has never had a problem with them. He doesn't rub his eyes, only when he starts with an infection. I am wondering if it is the long eyelashes that maybe get into his eyes and cause a problem...any thoughts on this?
