I'm looking for a simple car seat cover for just the seat of our back seat. (I don't feel the need to cover the backrest portion.) I usually try an old towel but it inevitably gets pushed aside and I end up with wet and muddy foot prints on my leather seats. It washes easily but I'd rather avoid the mess if I could.

I see most pet sites have some version of a seat cover with quite a large price range. I wondered if anyone had a recommendation.

We bought a cover (very cheaply) and tried it, but the elastic was not the right size for our back seat. We bought an inexpensive thin blanket (from Christmas Tree Shop) and we just jam it into the crease between the back part and the bottom part of the seat (so that only the part Dexter lays on is covered). It works very well for us. The blanket is large enough so it covers the back seat of a small SUV with a little extra. Dex also doesn't move around much in the car so if Charlie moves a lot it may not work as well.

We bought the expensive car seat cover...big mistake..it is so slippery that Tanner cannot stay on it

Went to Costco and bought another dog throw (these are where the pet beds are and we have bought 5 so far)...easy to wash, stays put

We have always just used a huge quilt or blanket in the Tahoe. Drape it over the seats and secure it in the cushions. It's worked for us.

Thanks everyone! I'll see if I have a throw size blanket or quilt that I can use. It sounds like my towel is just too small for the job.

Leslie, Charlie doesn't move around much. He insists on sitting by the window behind the driver's seat. When we were driving my son to the airport, Matt took Charlie's seat! Charlie ended up in Matt's lap and finally Matt moved to the other side to give the doodle his spot.

There was some good stuff at that website! I may have to invest in the ramp eventually.
That cover looks great too! It serves the same purpose as the quilt or blanket, but it may not slip as easily as my quilts!

I bought a cargo area cover for the cargo area of my SUV. Right now it is covering the backseat of the SUV since I don't have the gate up to keep Maya in the cargo area.

OK i have 2 ...one is a expensive canvas one that the dogs slip on
and i rarely use it
the other one is great it's a 30in by 60in faux fleece which is awesome
doesn't slip on leather seats as it has a rubber backing
also can be washed easily and if need be cut down cost $30
