Well, my thoughts are I guess we all need to be in the hospital!!! I think most breeders have Giradia in their kennels and if they don't they will at some point. I don't think it is likely that humans will contract it unless like you, and Michael mentioned in another post you drink dirty water or eat their feces. Now like you said precautions should be taken when cleaning up after a puppy and washing your hands is a biggy. I do think the breeder should offer to pay for the meds that is what I do and most others do as well.
