Hi Annemarie! Gracie had all sorts of accidents at first. When we realized she was "going" right after she came in from "going" outside, we mentioned it to our vet. He immediately did a Urinalysis and found that she had a UTI. Puppies can get a urinary tract infection really easily, he said, especially when there's been some stress lately (like coming to a new home, potty training, etc.). I'd say, take a urine specimen in to your vet and check it out. You can get one yourself by taking a pie pan or a cake pan out and "catching" it. Or the vet will do it. But they'll give you results in a few minutes.

If that's not the problem then it's probably just that he's not getting the hang of it quite yet. Some pups take a little longer than others, but you're obviously doing a great job, cause you've got Bongo doing fine. It may just take a little longer for Jerry.

Are either of them having accidents in the crate? Do they share a crate? Are you cleaning up with an enzyme product that removes the smell completely?

I miss the photo gallery too! Hooray for Jerry! The enzyme stuff should help if Jerry was getting any ideas from leftover smells. One of my doods seemed really interested in any spot that had ever been an "accident." I've found that letting the enzyme stuff stay on the spot for several minutes before wiping it up (hard floor) helps a lot. Any carpet accidents I've treated by soaking up as much as I could, then spraying the enzyme on and actually letting it dry there. The enzymes actually "eat" the odor-causing particles in urine. Better living through chemistry!
