Puppy breath won't last forever, but when they grow up and have big dog breath, you'll be wishin' for the puppy breath back! 
I don't think puppy breath is all that bad, but I already started brushing Hector's teeth. It's a good idea anyway so his teeth don't ever get gross later on. You can use a soft baby toothbrush and water for now, and yes, they do try to chew on the toothbrush while you're doing it, but if you go slowly and use lots of treats, they get the idea and learn to tolerate (I wouldn't say LIKE) it. Anyway, that's my 2 cents!
