My little buddy is having another round of health issues, and I'm worried about the outcome of it all. A week and a half ago, he seemed to be having issues with his operated leg, so the vet upped his gabapentin dose. then last saturday night, he couldn't lay down or even put his head down without crying, so off we went to the emergency clinic, where they determined that it was a back issue, thought to be muscular (thank God) rather than skeletal. They gave him some tramadol and some methocarbamol (a muscle relaxer), so he could sleep and he seemed to be getting a bit better, except friday he started puking and was pooping liquid with blood mixed in, so back to our vet. Now he has a stomach issue, so he has to take metronidazole and probiotic to combat that as well as stopping his meloxicam, which is making his leg seem sore again. The poor little guy has really had a couple crappy weeks. Add to this the fact that I had to take a forced retirement (no pension) in March due to my own medical issues, so I really have NO money to pay for any surgical repairs that he may need. I'm really scared for my best friend.... Thanks to those of you who took the time to read and consider this post.

Just an quick update- Cash's gastro issues are all gone and he's back to eating well. He's off all meds but his gabapentin and meloxicam and up to walking 2 blocks each day. Also, we've determined that he in fact has a problem with his left front shoulder which would explain the yiking when trying to lay his head down in the beginning of all this. It also seems to be getting better, so we think that he hurt it wrestling with his mastiff sister, Carly. If he doesn't get back to where he was before in a week or so, we'll take him back to the vet for x-rays. Thank you for keeping him in your thoughts...

I can really felt the sadness of your heart from these words but now that Cash is fine now, why not celebrate!
