I know that Calvin is also VERY friendly and sometimes the other dog does not feel like playing or whatever and they sometimes snap at him or growl at him. He responds appropriatly by backing off. My expereince has been that the dogs know when enough is enough and back away when "told" by the other dog. If you don't think your dog is doing that, I might suggest having him temperment tested. A local doggie daycare provides this service free. It was interesting to watch. I was nervous but Calvin passed with flying colors. They told me he was definately not submissive, but responded appropriately to negative feedback from more dominate dogs. Unless it gets really, really ugly you might just have to let them work it out. Leslie
