Very sad to post this ad...I am seeking people on craigslist but this forum seems to feature people who love Labradoodles and would take good care of them! I am in Davidson County in North Carolina.

Our family pet, Shadow, is a male Labradoodle who has not been fixed. We have 3 kids who love him and his best friend is our Shih Tzu.

Shadow is a good boy for the most part but I believe in FULL disclosure so that the family that takes him is prepared for him and takes great care of him. Shadow has become a little bit protective over our kids. He views rough housing and playing with other people as threatening. He does not like other people (the kids' friends included) playing and horsing around. He has started nipping (not biting hard but definitely putting teeth on them) as a warning. I thought he was just playing rough but it has begun to show a pattern. Our kids have friends over all the time and I can't keep putting Shadow in his kennel or tying him outside. I wish we had a fenced in yard but he gets tied out on a lead. He does like to run when he gets off his leash. I don't have any problems with a loyal protective dog but we do not have a safe place to put him away when kids are here. He is not aggressive with strangers and is very loving. We only have the problem with people who roughhouse with the kids.

He is house trained and never has accidents in the house. He does tend to run when not on a leash or fenced in a yard so a fenced in yard would be a need for him.

He is a higher maintenance dog since he needs groomed on a regular basis. This costs me about $60 every 3 months or so.

His shots are up to date. He just went to Banfield Vet (inside Petsmart) last month. Shadow's parents where both Labradoodles so he is a 2nd generation Labradoodle. He was a rescue from an overwhelmed breeder and we do not have papers of any kind on him. He does shed slightly but not much. Our son is allergic to dogs and does not have any issues with him.

He is a stinker who will gladly take care of any food that you leave out so you have to watch him. ;)

He is actually due to be groomed right now so that would need done soon.....his curly coat tends to get tangled and matted if left too long.

We will only let him go to a great loving family with the resources to take care of him. We will be charging a $100 re-homing fee and including his kennel (which is a bit old but works fine), bowls, leash, harness, and his collar.

We love our dogs like family but can't knowingly put Shadow in a situation where he would get into trouble or hurt someone.

Please email me if you are interested in adopting our Shadow! I can send pictures to anyone who is truly able to take care of him like he deserves. Thank you.
