I am so glad that I found this website. My husband and I lost our beautiful Hannah (a six month old labradoodle) to a seizure disorder on November 29. We still can't believe that she is really gone. Reading your stories and seeing your wonderful pictures makes me feel so much better and even more resolved to adopt another doodle once we get a bit beyond this stage.

AnnieG, I'm so sorry to hear about your Hannah. My heart goes out to you and your family. We unexpecitedly lost our 5 yr old chocolate lab in January to a fairly rare fungal infection. We go our first doodle in February, the house was too quiet. We were bit by the doodle bug again in June and got our 2nd doodle. When the time is right I hope you share your joy with us!

Hi AnnieG, welcome and I hope this forum can give you some peace. Such a tragic thing to happen to poor little Hannah but know that she is at the Rainbow Bridge and running freely and pain free :)

Annie, I am so sorry for your loss...I know what that sort of heartache is like and I am sincerely sad for you.
I hope that you will consider another puppy, if you are inclined to do so, because when we lost one of our puppies (I am a breeder) the only thing that helped to ease the pain was to sit on the ground and have the remaining 9 puppies climbing all over me!
There is no sorrow that a puppy can't ease...
None will replace your dear Hannah, of course, but human hearts are big...certainly big enough to put another dose of Doodle love in there!
I am originally from Utah...and I am now in northern CA...so I have a special affinity to you and certainly do welcome you to our forum!
Please contact me privately, if you'd like...I'd enjoy chatting with you.

This forum is so helpful!

I was beginning to think I was crazy to be so sad about Hannah. She had such enthusiasm and enjoyment of life and when I tell anyone about it they look at me like I am nuts. My husband and I planned for a doodle for 2 years before we got her. We will retire to South Carolina in two years and we were planning for her to be old enough to travel with us to our new home and to share our retirement.

thanks. It really helps to have others who understand.[/img]

annieg.....big hugs to you honey.

maybe you'll still be able to fulfill your dream. Unless people are pet owners they usually don't understand how they become a family member and the loss one feels when something happens

I just wanted to post a picture of Tanner. He will be on his way to Annieg and Tim this afternoon. They are welcoming Tanner with open arms and big hearts. Tanner was in need of a loving, forever home and Annie and Tim were in need of someone to help them mend a broken heart so it seemed like a perfect match, don't cha think? I know I have never met Annie or Tim but some people you can just tell by talking with them that they are wonderful people :) I can't think of a better home I would want Tanner in and for him to have found it in time for the Holidays just makes my heart smile. Merry Christmas Annie and Tim, here's your boy:

OOPS, sorry. Let me try that again.

I hope this works this time, if not, I'll have to take lessons from Movistar again. You have to remember I'm over 50 and the brain doesn't absorb info for long, teehee :)

Tim and Annie are so excited and humbled

Tim and I are so excited and can hardly wait until we pick up Tanner this evening. We are overwhelmed at dixiedi's generosity! This started out to be a very sad and solemn holiday. We had agreed that we would not get a tree and did't feel like celebrating. Looks like we now will have our tannembaum in "Tanner".

We still miss our Hannah and will always remember those three precious months with her. Sick as she was, she was such a love. She taught us about labradoodles and I am sure many of the cute tricks that Tranner will pull on us will remind us of Hannah.

This has really shown us the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. Tim and I will be looking for an opportunity to pass along this kindness.

Merry Christmas to you all,

annieG
