Since Christmas costs us a bundle with Kevin having a large family, I decided to spend this year making lots of handmade gifts. I can be found at any given time on the daybed crocheting doilies, belts, scarves, throws, shrug sweaters, etc. I am usually very vigilent about putting it up when I get up to potty. Let's just say I'm middle-aged and so that's pretty often, LOL. Yesterday, I got up to take a quick break and left my crochet bag open. I came back in the room to see Dexter, caught in the act, with a brand new ball of very expensive cotton thread, completely taken off the spindle, and thoroughly slobbered. He dropped it as soon as he saw me and put on his "the cat did it" face. I wish I had the camera handy at that moment. He got a stern scolding and mommy didn't speak to him for a bit (which killed him worse than the scolding). So I sat for hours and undid his mess, and actually managed to save the whole ball of thread. After the salvage effort, I let him up on the daybed for a snuggle and makeup talk. Not 2 minutes later, he snatched the ball and the chase was on! Talk about a naughty boy!
If my 25" doily that is nearly finished had been attached to that ball, he'd be coming to Uncle Gene's for an extended visit with cousin Jonah and Miko!
I can't WAIT to get moved so he has a yard to run and expend that extra energy!
