My Newbee Smells BAAADDDD

Please help!

We brought home our brand new F1B Apricot Doodle today. He's cute and pretty mellow, but we have washed him twice and we cannot even make him smell like the shampoo!! He reaks and I can't even come up with a good analogy as to what!!!

Please help! I barely want to let him in the house....and I was SOOOO excited!

I also want to note that he seems very very skinny (underneath his fluff) and he drank nearly a HUGE bowl of water in one sitting. I imagine that is not normal either!!! He is still thirsty too!

It doesn't sound normal to me. Did you get him from a breeder or shelter?
I'd see a vet first...could be an illness. Bathing may be not the best idea until you find out what is causing the smell.
Could be something as simple as having his anal glands cleaned (not fun...I let the vet/groomer do it.)
But with him being very skinny, the water, the coat and the smell...well, I'd guess a health or neglect problem. (Sorry.) I really hope to be wrong on this!
I am sorry, but I am thinking that you may have a kennel dog...you might run into potty training issues because he was never trained to potty anywhere except whre he lives.
I hope that I am wrong...but all t he signs point to this possibility.
Hope you keep us posted about what the vet says.
hahahaha, I think that the fur in his eyes won't bohter his hearing! LOL Sometimes they do have "selective hearing"!
I am sooooo relieved that he is well! All things considered, you are very, very lucky!
I am so glad that you went to the vet and got a clean bill of health.
Sounds like he is just getting used to his environmentn too...I know, because I just got two puppies who are pooping/peeing everywhere but where they should! *sigh* But...they are so danged cute, how do you get upset? You don't!
I am glad that you posted your update. Thanks!
  A little stinker!!

I agree, the breeder should be put on notice that you have had issues with him...even though you are not asking for any refund or help financially, they should know what the vet says.
