I have a multi-gen male whom I plan to breed with my adorable F-1. What would the puppies be called??? Not F-1B....but, what?

Any thoughts appreciated.

I believe they would be either considered an F2, since you usually add a generation onto the lowest generation parent, or a multi-generational pup. But, I think most people call that match a multi-generational match.

Hello...

It all gets very confusing, but the "rule" is that you can only go up one generation higher from the parent with the lowest generation.

Sorry, that's what I meant. It's a "rule" but depending on if you feel like aligning yourself with organizations or not, or what your personal belief is, obviously. But I would definitely publicize what the parents are.

OK Gracie...if you take a f2 then...and backcross it to a poodle
isn't that a f3 then? if not don't worry i'll go baack and look ALAA site

You wouldn't take an F1B for sure and back to a poodle you could I guess breed a F2 back to a poodle but really just do the F1B then move on. But that's my opinion others might do it different.
