If you really want to get a lot, I'd try later in the evening when people are home from work. If you tried 9-9:30 EST you would allow the west coasters time to get home from work too.

in Canada where SUE IS, calif, oregon, wash it's 6pm

now UK i belive is 5hours ahead of us

so
once again 9pm in NY
means subtract 1 hour for Texas
central us take off 2hours
western us take off 3hours

and

if NEW YORK is at 9pm
means all others west of us are BEFORE our time
