hi guys, it's me, debbie. luther got neutered today and the new vet called me to say the operation went fine but found out he had mange mites in his eye!!!! needless to say, i'm so relieved that it's a"treatable" condition and no surgery is needed, but what the heck are mange mites and where could they have come from? i'm just a bit shocked, to say the least. good news is that the new vet LOVED luther and couldn't stop talking about how wonderful he is and what a great, great dog he is!! i love to hear that----ha! i'm so proud of him. they probably thought i was nuts when i brought him in this morning for surgery with his "blue teddy bear"!!!! the vet said he would talk to me tomorrow morning when i pick him up and he will be treating him tonight and every 2 weeks i have to come in for a "dip" for the eye? does anyone have any experience with "mang mites" or knows about it? i would appreciate anything you guys can tell me. thanks a bunch, debbie

thanks lydia---today when i picked up luther, the new vet said that i have to bring him in every 2 weeks for a about 4 times to let him dab "dip" on him to get rid of it. he said it was a very mild case, so i was glad to hear that. when luther had his 1st check up, right after i got him, he had ear mites in his ears, too. that just took drops twice a day to get rid of, so that wasn't bad. i'm glad to hear that yours is fine now and am glad it isn't such a big thing since we caught it right away. thanks again! debbie
