Yesterday Lucky met his new family and went home with them. They have a three year old, goldendoodle, named Harvey. While Lucky liked the people, he really hit it off with Harley. Harley tends to be very submissive and he wasn't shy with Lucky. There was alot of good give and take. I wish I had remembered to take pictures!!

Charlie and I got to go to our favorite park and play off leash with two of his dog friends and then Lee and I celebrated our doggie independence by seeing Jersey Boys. We had a relaxing day. :)

This morning Charlie is searching for Lux and whining a bit. He's snuggling up to me but I know he's missing his buddy. I hate to think that I'll have to go in the backyard and wrestle him in the mud to make him happy!

DEB...i love happy endings and you're going to have to foster again soon so Charlie has a playmate !
and if you do wrestle Charlie in the mud....how about pics and a VIDEO

that for sure would top fur stoles and crating humans!

We settled for a tug of war in the kitchen. Sorry... not video!

Mike, if I get pics from Lucky's new parents, I'll be sure to post them. I hope they keep in contact.

Deb,
I'm so proud of you and Charlie - I know you will both miss Lucky, but you have spread a lot of happiness around by fostering him until he could go to his forever home! :p

It's been a sad and quiet day around here. It's definitely just more quiet by virtue of having only one doodle!

Charlie didn't eat his breakfast until about 3pm and has searched the house for Lucky sniffing his crate, etc. I finally took down his crate. Charlie watched anxiously and I cried. We are a couple of babies!

I'm sure we will adjust and, yes, I think we will take another foster dog after a bit of a break. I understand it is more common for the foster dogs to stay only a couple of weeks. That would be easier on us.

Eventually, we might be a two doodle family but Charlie needs to grow up a bit first. He was definitely the play instigator with Lucky.

For the time being, I'm lining up his play dates! Today his Newfie friend was over. I swear that guy is still growing like crazy.

It would be a classic, wouldn't it? You all never fail to amuse me. The smile is back on my face. :D

Yesterday afternoon I gave Charlie a rawhide chew to keep him busy. He is still working on it tonight. Lucky would have finished his off in 20 minutes. And then tried to get Charlie's too. LOL! There are definitely some advantages to being a one dog home.

I had three dogs this weekend in my house! It was very quiet on Sun night when they were all gone. (Maya had to go to the kennel Sun night)

Lucky's new mom called me tonight. He is doing well and enjoying his new family. Their grandchildren were over to entertain him on Sunday and everyone got along. She promised to send me pictures!

Charlie doesn't seem too down but he's not eating much. One cup of Canidae per day isn't much for a 50 pound dog. :? Tomorrow he starts his agility training class. He'll enjoy the mayhem. :D

I'll bet that will take his mind off of losing his buddy somewhat! Good luck Charlie! Let us know how he does - I'm thinking that's something Tyke would really enjoy when she gets a little older!
