So after Napa lost the "extra weight" that he gained for the two weeks we didn't cut back his diet to supplement his lack of exercise while he was confined, Napa's developed a bunch of extra skin, all over his body. Is this normal? I can't imagine what we could do about it, but I don't think I remember meeting a dog with this much extra skin...

Thanks!

I don't think you want Napa to have a doggie tummy tuck! :D

If its similar to humans and he has good skin elasticity, it will resolve itself over time. For humans who loose alot of weight, the skin usually adjusts when we are young. When we are older and have poor elasticity, we get saggy, loose skin. :?

When we put Tucker on a diet (3 yo 50lb beagle mix who shouldn't have been more than 35lbs!) it took him 6 months to loose the weight, and then another 6 months to a year for the skin to go back to normal. Napa wasn't overweight for nearly as long as Tucker was, so I suspect it will go away a bit faster :)
