Our 7 month old Labradoodle, Magic still jumps up on us as well as people who come to the house. does anyone have suggestions? we've tried a lot of things, and are now just ignoring Magic until he stops. I don't know how well it will work in the long run.

Well, I can tell you what we learned on Dex's first day of Puppy-K today. We train them by keeping them in a 'sit' on a short leash at first, and have different people approach them with a treat. If the dog jumps up, the person immediately says "Too Bad!" (like in a sorry tone), and walks away and goes on to something else for about 30 secs. Then try again. The dog jumps, "too bad" and walk away (YOU'RE still holding him on a leash - this is a two-person exercise)).

When he finally realizes and stays in a 'sit', the person says "YES!" and gives the treat. Dexter got the idea after about 3 or 4 "too bads!". Now we're just practicing at home...... :D But it was getting the point across awesomely!
