What a disaster!! He pulled all the way from the car into the lobby......he jumped up on the receptionist..................then I had to go into the Title Company. It's a tiny room in the back of the office. I was struggling to keep him off everyone in this small room.
I'm trying hard to get ALL people to not pet him until he's settled....NOPE! Everyone wants to just come up to him and give him love.........so he winds up jumping on them then lying on his back with his legs flailing all over the place!
........Now back in the lobby....One guy came in and was watching this...He asked how old he is. I told him almost 5 months. Then he laughed and said ..."AH! Puppy!!" I guess Bogie looked older and like a flipped out dog...........hahaha!! He then said people shouldn't pet him if he's acting up but they should turn away....He's saying this as he's bending over petting him and pretty much saying kootchie-coo instead of asking him to sit!
Oh Brother!! I wasn't a happy camper! He's doing sooooo good at home and even coming when called in the yard. BUt, we have a lot of work to do before I take him back in public....
I know...........he's a PUPPY!!

Yeah, that about sums it up, he's a puppy! Hang in there, he will calm down. Even at a year and 4 months, Cali is overjoyed and excited to meet and greet people, especially children. She wags her tail so hard and whimpers in anticipation. I think a lot of it is just doodle nature.

At fifteen months if Ebbe even thinks someone is coming over to pet her she goes crazy ... her tail wagging so hard, you can feel the breeze

And it is so hard NOT to pet such a cute puppy!

Dexter is finally getting a tiny bit better about jumping up on visitors (at 1.5 yrs)...he still is super excited (tail going nuts), but it's a slight improvement.

Yes... we have the same issues. Charlie can walk down the street and ignore people quite nicely. BUT if the person shows any interest in him, then he takes it has an invitation. At 11 months, he doesn't jump as much and he has completely gotten over the piddling but we're far from the model of good behavior.

Thanks for sharing and commiserating. That's what's so good about this forum and all you guys!! :)
You've been there and understand. It really is kind of cute when I think he IS still a puppy. But WOW! At one point I had my coat back on and I was sweating from the tugging, pulling and trying to get SOME good behavior out of him.....I got him outside and walked through downtown Birmingham in that blustery, snowy cold and cooled off.......lol..........He was fairly good then even though people were still coming up and saying.......AWWWWWWWWWW.......and then he'd start again!!
LOL  I DO love my puppers!
