I got my AARP card yesterday! I know what you're thinking...."So do I, what's the big deal?" Read the card carefully....I'll explain later....... And NO, it's not photo shopped, fake, or doctored in any way!!

You've joined AARP when you were 16!?! Talk about being mature for your age  ! And you've been getting that discount for years!

Is there a picture of you in the attic slowly aging?

Okay ...   Would that particular member be your late Dad?

Will you expire in March of 2013?

Didn't know they had expiration dates! What does that mean? Valued member since 1974?????

All I can think of is that someone else signed you up back then. My husband reached "AARP age" two years ahead of me and signed us up together! I was not amused.

No matter what the card says Gene, we're all young at heart and our doodles help keep us that way! :D :D :D :D :D

Gene, did you suddenly get more grey hairs when you looked at the card? That's too funny!!!

My husband got his AARP card last week. I'll have to go look at it to make sure they didn't age him too.

Sue, we American's have a habit of thinking everyone else in the world knows all about us and our day-to-day lives. The wiki link Meg posted will tell you all you about AARP.

Ah, Sue ... Forgive me ...   I forgot ... why would you know AARP? I thought you were just ragging on Gene by pretending to be so much younger than he and teasing with your question!

AUGH! I am not pm'ing this apology so all will know how bad I feel for being a stupid American :( . Mea Culpa!

What happened was when I called to cancel my Mom's AARP insurance, etc., after she passed...they aked my age and said they would just transfer the membership. I didn't think that they would keep the same enrollment date! And I certainly hope I don't expire in 2013.....I kinda like it here!!
