Our 12 week old doodle, Abee, gets the hiccups almost daily. Has anyone else experienced the same with their doods?

Should we be concerned?

My Denver gets them from time to time, They only last him a couple of minutes though,seems to be when he eats too fast. My vet says not a problem but certainly check with your own vet if you are worried.

Bailey has had them a couiple times. Only lasts a minute or 2 and it's kind of cute.

same with Jonah, when i got him at 4 months old. never lasted long...is kinda cute, especially the look on his face :wink:

Max had hiccups daily for almost 2mos. He seemd to outgrow them by time he was 5mos old.

He used to get them mostly at nighttime.

Cinnamon would get them often, too. But she grew out of them and it didn't have any bad side effects, I kind of felt sorry for her. It never seemed to bother her though.

Boyd had hiccups almost daily until he was around 5 months old. I saw a puppy timeline on pet professor that listed hiccups as very common in pups. Boyd used to get them after napping.

Yup, Darwin gets them too, almost every day! He's 5 months, 1 week now.

we still giggle how every day Max would get hiccups and you could hear them in the next room.
on my bed at night hahhahaa we'd feel the hiccups :roll: :shock:

He no longer gets them...we miss the look on his face when he had them

Way back when, (8 years ago) when my infant son would go through a hiccup spell, he would have a growth spurt and we would have to change his clothes size. We noticed the same thing with my younger son and now Daisy too. Not a scientific theory but everytime someone in my family hiccups we just say that they are growing :lol:

Jason, The vet told us the hiccups are caused by the fact that the nerve to the diaphgram and the diaphragm grow at a different rate. It does become less frequent as they get older. Lani, 1 yr., rarely gets them and Toby, 9 mo., gets them occasionally.

I just had a fllashback...my daughter now 19yrs old ...well in my 9th month of pregnancy she had the hiccups every night at 11pm for 3 weeks till she was born. hahhaha my stomach would keep moving up and down while I sat and read.
