My Denver gets them from time to time, They only last him a couple of minutes though, seems to be when he eats too fast. My vet says not a problem but certainly check with your own vet if you are worried.
Way back when, (8 years ago) when my infant son would go through a hiccup spell, he would have a growth spurt and we would have to change his clothes size. We noticed the same thing with my younger son and now Daisy too. Not a scientific theory but everytime someone in my family hiccups we just say that they are growing
Jason, The vet told us the hiccups are caused by the fact that the nerve to the diaphgram and the diaphragm grow at a different rate. It does become less frequent as they get older. Lani, 1 yr., rarely gets them and Toby, 9 mo., gets them occasionally.
I just had a fllashback...my daughter now 19yrs old ...well in my 9th month of pregnancy she had the hiccups every night at 11pm for 3 weeks till she was born. hahhaha my stomach would keep moving up and down while I sat and read.
