It's been awhile since I've done an update on my dood! Guinness is 10 months old now. I ran into another Labradoodle owner yesterday at a festival I was playing (Guinness was with me of course) and she mentioned that at 10 months she saw a staggering difference in her guy. Honestly, since the beginning of this month I swear he's gotten calmer. Instead of constantly running around entertaining himself, he seems to just want to sleep more. He's PERFECT in public, too. I've taken him to the Indy 500 parade, the Pride parade, and numerous festivals and concerts, and he's behaved amazingly.

Don't get me wrong, he still LOVES his daily romps and swims in the Indianapolis canal whenever he gets a chance! We've developed a routine of letting him pick out his own stick and playing fetch with him in the water. He's gotten amazing at diving in and retrieving in a flash. When he was even younger a few people told us we should try dock diving with him; his Lab Mom used to compete, so I'm sure he'd do just fine. Has anybody else tried dock diving with their doods? I know he'll do it, I'm just curious to see if he can actually get enough height and distance to enter some competitions down the road.

Here's Guinness with his buddy Vince (a stray Husky I was fostering for a couple weeks):

And here he is with his newest (and only 2nd!) haircut. His beard was really matted, so they had to shave a lot of it off. It looks like he has a mustache!

I'm sure Guiness would do fine in dock diving...not too sure what that is, but I've seen plenty of pics here on the forum with doods running to the end of the dock and jumping in the water! Maybe someone reading this will re-post their pics! He's a handsome dood, and reminds me of Raleigh!

Guiness is so cute!!! I love his lighter colored hair around his nose :)

We have gotten our doodle Dexter to jump into the pool...makes us wonder if he'd jump off an actual dock? Then we got laughing about how they wouldn't let us in a competition with him in a lifejacket

After seeing Dakota's pictures, I thought Uma would be a dock diving pro so when I saw Splash Dogs was coming to Jacksonville I was so excited. It was pretty funny. She didn't refuse (like we saw a lot of dogs do), but she just kind of belly flopped. You know how most dogs (see picture above) soar through the air? Well Uma would run as fast as she could, then stop at the end of the ramp, and just belly flop. Everyone was laughing...it was funny.

The hardest part was making her wait in line. Patience is not her best attribute. :)

You are so BEAUTIFUL Guiness!!!!
And if he is a strong swimmer....GO for it!!!
Tuesday has become a strong swimmer and LOVES to retrieve from the water.(she also has strong field Champion lines which gears them that way!) There is a group that do dock diving and I noticed that on Wednesday nights they said that they were open to the public to try their dogs out... I would LOVE to do it....only it's a 100 mile drive for us....one way :?
Still think I might plan ahead and try it out!
