As we would say back in Da Bronx... Ozzie is "growin' like a Bastid!". I haven't had perceptual distortions since my college years in the 1970s so I know I'm not seeing things. Ozzie seems have made a quantum growth spurt since just last week. He just passed 6 months old and suddenly he is much taller, longer and more massive. I don't know what he weighs as we haven't weighed him since he first came home with us.

Anyone more experienced with Doodles want to comment on their rate of growth?

CHAS.......you are correct,OZZIE just went thru a growth spurt.

around 6 to 7mos many have one then slow down again in growth,
the next age for another but smaller growth spurt is around 9 to 10mos old.
After 12mos they usually tend to no longer grow in height but rather fill out a bit and may put on a few pounds. their coat too may change a bit.

max in his 9th month put 1in and 8lbs
Peanut was a 1/2in and was on a diet due to being overfed at the time.

BEAU in his 6.5 to 7.5mo age --put an inch on in height and gained 8lbs in a month! and OMG he's LONG now and an excellent counter surfer overnight

Yes, Ozzie just went through a spurt....
Take him to any vet and ask if they would mind weighing him
.....they usually don't mind a bit.
(Or we have a couple of pet stores
that have scales they can get on....)
I think it is interesting to keep track of their growth....
Coco hates the yard stick, but I trick her into
holding still and letting me measure her.
Do a search on this forum and find the growth chart formula.
Except you may not know what he weighed at 4 months...to do it.

Again, I love your avatar!! You always have good ones!

Lucas turned 7 months yesterday, and seems to have slowed down, but during month 5-6 he seemed to grow 2-3 pounds every week...it seemed, every time I blinked he got a little bit bigger... I haven't measured his height yet though...

In some ways, Ozzie is not that bright... He thinks his reflection is some elusive, mysterious other dog who also lives here but is trapped behind glass windows or the glass fireplace screen. He is very generous with his "counterpart", always offering to share his toys and chewbones with him.

I'll probably get around to weighing him someday... For now, I know he's hefty enough to knock me down. (But that's not difficult as I have a neurological condition that effects my balance and equilibrium.)

We used that method for a long time....but they are both so heavy now, and my sons are rarely here....it is easier for me to drive 1/2 mile to the Canine Commissary and run in and have them step on the scale themselves....
