Tanner is scheduled for his second grooming in 2 weeks. Having stopped at least 6 people walking doodles in our area and asking "who grooms your dog", I have found a British lady at our closest Petco that does a great job on an Australian doodle who lives by us. She actually likes to groom them.. other groomers that I have called have refused to take Tanner.('')


Anyway, my questions is..............in the pictures of the groomed doodles on the forum it looks like their eyelashes are cut short. Tanner's hair over his eyes just grows down and kind of flops over his eyes. Since he has such light eyes and we live in such a sunny area of the county, should the area around his eyes be left long or short and should eyelashes be left long...his are probably 1 1/4 inches.

We had the hair around Dexter's eyes cut short, however we asked her to not touch his actual eye lashes. I love his long lashes!! I guess it's a personal preferance.

I'm surprised a groomer would refuse to groom Tanner...I wonder if they just don't do longer haired dogs or if it's doodle discrimination?

Oh my I wouldn't dream of cutting Abby's eyelashes The eyelashes are eye protection, so in my humble opinion I would leave them alone and just trim the hair around the eyes.

i'd leave eyelashes alone unless they are poking into his eyes.
let's put it this way ...how many of us have long eyelashes (i do) and leave them alone hahahhahaa (i do) hahahahhaha

I LOVE Peanuts long eyelashes!!! and i trim the hair above max's eyes so it still curls over a tad but not totally over and/or in his eyes

Oh Tanner is too cute!!! We had them cut the actual fur that hung over Dex's eyes, but not the actual lashes (if that makes sense). Let me try a before...

It's hard to tell in the 2nd photo, but his actual lashes are just as long, but the fur is gone.

uhhhhh does he crash into things? Probably why he chewed chair cushions...he had to go by feel and was trying to find his chew toys
Do you put it up in a ponytail? But, I have to admit that it does give him a certain mysterious quality :wink:

GENE dont' make me drive the 4 hours to your house to trim Jonah's bangs for you. Poor baby, all you need to do is trim them about 2 in? so they still spring over but at least he can see and still look cute as ever

For some reason, I can't cut his hair....it's just toooooo much of his personality! Miko on the other hand....too darn cute either way!

Gene, Jonah reminds me of the late 50's and early 60's beatniks in Greenwich Village!! He needs a cigar and a beret.....and a paint brush!

Tanner is just such a good looking fella....with or without bangs.

I vote for never, ever cutting eyelashes.....unless, as Annmaire said, they are poking into the eye.

I think we're talking about the brows not the lashes, right? I would never touch a dogs lashes, but would trim the brows is they got too long.

Cinnamon used to have long brows and they fell over her eyes so pretty. She doesn't have that anymore, it seems she's loosing her long hair that fell over her eyes. I noticed that when I was looking at old pictures of her and the now pics.

She's gotten a lot blonder, too. Not too much in the way of silver, but definitely blonde, on the tips of her ears and her legs. that's ok, she's still my baby!

Ohhhh, Cinnamon is so pretty...I love all her colors!!

I especially love her gorgeous feathers on her tail....Coco seems to be getting a little longer and fuller tail.....but it isn't anything like Cinnamon's!

She is also getting lighter....Not such a super rich chocolate anymore....her face and feet are still pretty dark, but legs and body are lightening up some.....still wonder about how she will look when she is older.....doesn't matter though, " she's still my baby !!"
