I would hold off on systemic antibiotics cuz my vet has only ever treated it with drops or ointments, topically.
Honestly, I think it probably can wait, but how about going to the pharmacy and asking a pharmacist about suggestions for drops to keep it at bay until you can see a vet? My Walmart Pharmacist was very helpful with dosing Benadryl for Jasmine when I thought she had a wasp sting. OR, how about going to a Banfield clinic at a Petsmart? If you can't wait that would be an option. I would see a vet, and get a prescription, but I wouldn't call this serious enough for an emergency clinic an hour away unless Miko took a serious turn for the worst.
The good news is that the small bottle of drops will be on hand for the next time this happens, for either of your kiddos.
