Hi Runnergirl, welcome!
I don't know of any breeders in that area at all, but I would suggest that you look at ILA and LAA for references. Also the Premium Breeder's site is a good one and so is the Goldendoodle (also includes Labradoodle breeders).
Each of these organizations have state by state listings.
If you don't find what you are looking for close to you, you can look into shipping...I know that it is not something that we really want to do, but I have had 2 puppies shipped to me, both arrived very well and both have turned out to be the greatest dogs! (My point is that I didn't need to meet them personally, I trusted the breeders to help me select and often they will match your needs very well with a good puppy...some will even tell you if they don't think that one of their puppies would work out for you and they will help you find another breeder!)

You are welcome, Lori, and we are glad that you joined us. It really is a good site, very helpful and more like family...not a bunch of strangers. I guess that loving a doodle connects us as family! :D

I commend you for doing the research on finding the right dog and, more importantly, finding the right breeder.

If you look at the archives here, you will find all sorts of situations similar to yours and the advise is great, but if you would like to contact me and ask questions, please feel free to. You can send a private message by clicking on the PM button below.

I hope you will keep us posted when you find your puppy!

Wow Lori! Fabulous! You were able to get your dog and help a sweet animal needing a home too! Congratulations! I am truly happy for you!

The piddling you are talking about will most likely stop after a while, but I suggest that you don't talk to him in a happy voice, don't get excited to see him, etc. Just act normally and maybe even ignore him when you first come in. Certainly don't make a fuss about his piddling...it will only make it worse.

There are some really good articles on this forum:

Yes, training is a big issue. Be sure to get a good training class and, most importantly, be very consistent in training the puppy at home. Do it every day, don't let up...also include your son in the training.

Make sure your son doesn't get on the ground and roughouse with the dog...and no games of keep away!

A prong collar works wonders with pulling on leashes...but be sure to fit it properly and use it properly...if you don't it could be a problem.

These things should help you...let me know if you have other questions!

Again, congratulations!
