Hi - It's been a while since I've had a chance to write....Riley has been keeping us busy!! He's been doing great, but yesterday I noticed that his right eye had a little bit of goop in it - and it has it again today (still only in one eye). I took a warm cloth to it, but is this something I can monitor or do I need to get to the vet?

Thanks!

My dood had the same thing a couple of times and he needed antibiotic drops from the vet. It was conjuntivitis. It's a good thing to take them in because they could have debris in the eye or a scratch. The vet checks for all of that.

I agree that it is probably conjunctivitis, but still I think it is very important to ask your vet to look into the eye with some magnifying device...it could be an eye injury (easy to get something in the eye that we can't see)...conjunctivitis is merely an eye infection...meds can clear it up, but you want to find out what caused it, if you can. (Eye injuries can cause cataracts.)
