Excessive drooling...

Doc started excessively drooling yesterday. The sides of him nose and underneath and down his neck is all wet and you can see strands of drool hanging down every so often. This is unusual and sudden. I've checked his mouth and teeth for anything unusual and don't see anything. He hasn't vomited that I've seen. If it's still happening tomorrow, I'll call the vet, but, in the meantime has anyone else experienced this and know what the problem could be? He's eating and acting normal in every other way. Sore throat maybe?

I can't think of anything that he would be stressed about. He drools when he's sleeping, too, and leaves a wet spot.

Thanks for the links blueteal. I tried googling for info but didn't come up with any more info.

This happened once before, but, he vomited and seemed sick to his stomach. It cleared up in a couple of days.

I'll let you know if it clears up or if I take him to the vet tomorrow. It sure is messy!
Thanks for asking Gene. It's only 7:25 a.m. here so I'm waiting for the vet to open. Doc seems to be drooling less, but, he's still drooling.
Well, it appears that Doc is all dried up now! he-he. He was much better today so I decided to wait a while longer before calling the vet and he hasn't been drooly. He's eating, drinking, pooping and peeing and acting just fine.

Thanks for all your concern. It sure is troublesome when our babies are "not quite right", isn't it? :?
