Friday I went to the doctors office to get some meds for this really bad head cold I have been suffering with for weeks now. My throat hurts and I really couldn't talk because it was so sour. Well I go in and i am told I need a CT scan and then to go see a ENT doctor. I am worried and unsure what is going to happen. Well to make a long story short I have out patient surgery. I still can't talk but I am doing better. But the best part of this really bad day was my husband came home from work early to take care of me. Well I was being taken call of by Cacao. She sleep next to me and keep checking on me. I don't know how many times I woke up friday afternoon with her watching me. I am totally in love with my little girl. It was like she new i didn't her to be good and she looked worried about me. It was so sweet. I will have to say I have never had a dog do that before. I am doing better but I am still in pain. But Cacao has been right next to me the whole time.

Thanks Cacao for all the joy and love..

Samantha, feel better soon and don't be afraid to take the pain meds BEFORE you need them! They work better that way! Good job, gorgeous Cacao!

Cocoa sounds like an angel! what a sweety. I'm sorry to hear you've been unwell and I hope you make a quick recovery and feel a lot better soon. I'm not sure if Jofi has quite as refined a 'bedside manner' as Cocoa but it's wonderful how perceptive these dogs are and how comforting they can be.

I am feeling better today. I still can't talk really well. But I am feeling like my old self. So maybe in another day or so I will have my voice back. I really love to talk. And when you can't and you have to write it all down it just isn't the same. Cacao is still my bedside nurse. I love doodles.

Dogs are definitely superior to humans when it comes to comforting someone sick or hurt. A typical human will try to avoid dealing with your illness... a brief visit or phone call then, "Oh look at the time.. Goodbye... Gotta go!" Whereas a dog will stick by your side when you're down, and not leave you.
