Someone bought a puppy from me and has this question...
why does their puppy snap its teeth together or bite them together when asked to do something, or taken for a walk. I suggested maybe stress? Also maybe she is getting mature teeth (4 months)? There is nothing in her mouth... any suggestions.... they say she does it really loud?

Both of our doodles snap their teeth together also. We called Lani, the thunder toed snap dragon when we first got her. She went around snapping her teeth together very loudly. Toby did the samething when we brought him home in June. He did it to let Lani know he wanted to be left alone. Now they do it when they are playing, they sound like duling castanets.

Maybe someone else will have a real explanation for you.

Chester and Archie are also teeth snappers. Sometimes it seems like they do it so hard their teeth will break. They do it a lot when they are wrestling too.

Max is a teeth clomper as we call it....he seems to do it more when he's happy or wants something.
we all crack up here when we hear those teeth.
