Dog Beds?

Hey all!

What do your doodle pups and adults use for a dog bed? We're going to buy one for Banjo soon, and aren't sure what kind to get. What do your guys and gals use? Round? Rectangle? Bolster or flat? Microsuede or cotton? Fleece? All the choices! Also, does your pup just rip the bed to shreds? I'm wondering if we should spend the money if she'll just chew at it constantly...

I've added a poll for the occasion (just to try - thought it would be fun!) :)

Hi Robyn,
Mine have used many different things...but their preferences are the beds I get at Costco. They are usually $20 and have held up well, considering that my dogs are chewers.
I started with the round fleece, then I bought the more silky square ones. Both have been good...but my dogs usually end up in bed with me or on the floor!
(My dogs are heavy chewers and eventually do destroy their beds, but these last a lot longer than others I have purchased...the "cot" type didn't make it a week!)
Crate?

I tried putting a bed in Bella's crate which was the exact dimensions, but she just scratched at it and finally pulled it out...I then tried a blanket, no go; a towel, no go; a mat, no go and nothing--BINGO! She loves the hard plastic floor and a beat up teddy bear and nothing else. Go figure...I was so looking forward to getting her a bed. Maybe when she no longer needs the crate?
Hey Doro,

I know that feeling - Banjo likes the hard plastic too, and just eats away at the mat we gave her, but I personally cannot stand the noise of that plastic bottom. It's so loud when she scratches or moves around. Life is much more quiet, even if we have to clean up some foam from time to time :)

We're hoping that Little B. doesn't chew up the bed we decided to get her. She'll still sleep in her crate for a while (she's only 4 months), but hopefully she'll enjoy a bed while we're watching TV in the same room or just lounging... We'll see!

We just got a sleep slumber bed at Tuesday morning ....for 19 dollars size large...about 10 inches thick.....big enough for both dogs...However Nezzie still prefers the bathtub ..Maybe once its cooler she will use the bed...
* I have to laugh at the advertisement that came with the bed showing the support of the dogs spine ...They need a pic with the dog sleeping with all four feet in the air!
The bathtub? That's hilarious :)

My cats used to like to curl up in the sink, but I've never heard of a dog and the bathtub!
Lexie sleeps in the bathtub too! She hates to be hot and she sleeps where ever she finds a cool surface, that would be the bathtub! It's funny that Nezzie loves it too.

Perhaps you should trying to put the mat UNDER the plastic bottom... will take care of the sound fo you and Banjo can sleep on the cool, hard plastic he loves ;)
dog beds

Hi
My Reagan refuses to sleep on any type of dog bed - and we have tried
many different types. She likes to sleep on the bare ceramic tile or wood
floor - with an article of my clothing near her face. She has claimed four
of my sweaters and sweatshirts for herself, and hides them between naps.
I think they are her security blankets. Julee
