Doc seems to drool quite a bit. The hair on the sides of his mouth is always wet and dirty. I've even seen saliva drip out of his mouth occasionally. I just trimmed the hair on the sides of his mouth and he looks so much neater now. Just wondered if this was common in doods and/or if this is a lab trait. :?

Hi Kim...you are right, the heat could cause the drooling.

I have 2 dogs that drool when going for a ride in the car, it is a sign of upset stomach...but other things can cause it too...like just panting or holding something (like a ball) in their mouth too long.

My dogs usually have wet beards but it is due to the water that they slurp up and walk away with...they always leave a trail of water when they drink.

I just remembered this don't know how I could have forgotten but when I take Lucy to Austin to get her bred she pants drools and vomits the whole way (9) hours. This last time I left her there and Tom went and got her he let her sit in the front seat on the way home NOT ONE TIME DID SHE GET SICK :!: :!: :!:

If and when I ever take her back in the front seat she will be :!: :!: :!:

I know, Brooke! I am the same way! LOL See how human these doodles are? LOL

My Goldendoodle, the one that always has a ball in her mouth (or 3) drools a lot...maybe it is the playing that causes it...but I think it is like sweating. It keeps them cool. (Messy, but cool! :D )
