Difference between Labradoodle and Goldendoodle?

Aside from the parents, can anyone tell me if there are any big differences between a goldendoodle and a labradoodle (look, size, disposition, etc)?

There really isn't any difference as far as disposition, they are very similar. The main difference is in their coats. An F1 Goldendoodle has thicker hair than an F1 Labradoodle on the most part, not always but usually. With my experience, an F1 Labradoodle is much easier maintenance than an F1 Goldendoodle, again, there are exceptions. But, if you only have the one dog, the coat maintenance may not be an issue. I have not been around any F1B Goldendoodles, so I can't give my opinion on that. Both the Labradoodle and Goldendoodle have great temperaments (assuming they come from parents with good temperaments).

I have both ... and the difference in my particular case is that my Goldendoodle is much more stubborn than my Labradoodles...but she is also very sweet and innocent. Our Goldendoodle is much larger than our Labradoodles too. (But Labradoodles come in many sizes, ours are small medium.)

I agree that the coat is very different. I love the look of my Goldendoodle (F1 compared to an F1 Labradoodle.) She does shed though...but my LDs did too, until they were a year old and since my GD is only 8 months, I don't know if she will stop shedding or not.

They are both very loving and loyal. Both breeds are sweet and gentle and smart...easy to train. The main difference is the coat, and if I am honest, my F1 GD's coat is much prettier than my F1 LD's coats...softer, longer, lusher...very soft.

I guess that they also have different faces...Labradoodles have a marvelous boxy head and strong chest, a Goldendoodle is more lean with a longer, pointed nose. My GD has her eyes closer together too.

Either is a good choice, in my book!

Since you can see many F1 Labradoodles in the gallery of this forum, here are a couple of my Goldendoodle (F1)...not the best pics, but will show you the coat differences.

I agree Jac, I love the look of an F1 Goldendoodle. They are adorable and Rosie is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I have 2 Goldendoodles and 1 is only 35 lbs at 1 year of age, the other is bigger than my Labradoodles but I don't know what she weighs and she is 7 mos old.
Our labradoodle, Sadie, looks very similiar to a golden doodle. In fact, we met one in the park one day who could have been Sadie a few months ago. This is Sadie at 6 months old, she is now almost 9 months and STILL GROWING!

Oh Jannie, she's adorable!!! What generation is she?
Thanks Di, we think so too!

She is an F1B, her mom is an F1 labradoodle and dad a standard poodle.
Jannie, she is gorgeous! I plan to mate Chase (Poodle) with Rosie, if all of her testing comes out good!
I love her coat, she is beautiful!
