I know I know I've been very absent lately. I have an abcessed tooth and I've been in misery for days. Can't get in to a dentist and I'm living on coffee and vicadin. Anyway, I felt a little frisky today so we took Dex out on the town. Nothing really eventful. We went to Petsmart and let him pick out a toy. I was very very impressed with him there. Through the whole store he was hell on wheels. Chewing toys and running and pulling on his leash and trying to jump on any unsuspecting "victim" he could find. Then I turn and here's this little two year old darling little girl coming right at him to give him a hug. Now he loves the pre-teen boys that skateboard at the park here, he rough houses with them all the time. But he's never ever seen a baby. Before I could gasp and try to control him so he wouldn't bowl her over, her arms were around his neck giving kisses. (That mommy really needs to work on teaching how to approach doggies!) But he was so calm and gentle I was amazed! She kept escaping from her mommy to come back and play with him. Each time, he sat quietly and kissed her which sent her into spasms of laughter. As soon as she left, he was back to tasmanian doodle. But every moment that baby was there, he was an angel. Gotta love em!

Then we went to a coffee house and sat outside. The girls there brought him a big cup of water and biscuit treats. And a nice lady came out to ask if he was labradoodle or golden doodle. She has a black golden doodle and she told of his antics. Talk about a wild child! Made me want to hug Dex for being so good! We had a nice talk and she adored Dexter.

Then it was home to die on the couch for another long nap. I don't get to see the dentist til May 9, so if I'm in and out, just chalk it up to good old vicadin.

bahahahahahha! I expected that comment from AnnMarie! But seeing as I'm a grandma, and years ago they removed the crib (but left the playpen   ) when I had a hysterectomy, I'm thinking he'll have to visit with other people's babies! (not that I wouldn't give it an old colllege try :? )

OH Rita... I love reading about Dexters day out!!! Max is like that too hahahhaa WILDMAN in store ...calm as can be with a baby. So RITA it's settled: have a baby, or borrow one? OR even run a daycare  :?: :!: hahahhaaa

and CAn't you tell your Dentist it's an emergency? You do NOT want that abcess swelling and bursting! it happened to me years ago! I feel so bad for you and hope someone sees you BEFORE May 9th!! that is way too long to be in pain and dangerous IMO. ( yeah yeah i know Dr Annmarie Sparks here gives another qualified opinon hahahhaha)

oh wanna share some viadin with Sue and Gene?

Dexter's mommy, you ABSOLUTELY cannot wait that long with an abscessed tooth! Call them NOW and tell them you need to be fit in immediately...and if they can't or won't DEMAND an antibiotic! It is very serious! And if they won't give you an antibiotic, call your MD for an appointment and get the antibiotic from them.
If the abscess doesn't drain, the infection can spread to other areas of the head and neck and even become life-threatening.

Don't want to sound an alarm...but I agree...don't wait. Get to an emergency dentist right away!
Unless the abscess drains on its own (sometimes that can happen) then it could spread...so besides being horribly painful, it is very serious.
Still, I love the Dexter story! He is a cutie pie!!
Please let us know how you are feeling when you can.

I know. I'm calling my MD tomorrow for call-in meds. I am worried cause I have mitral valve prolapse among other heart problems and I've been walking around with this infection for a couple months at least. I worry about endocarditis (SP?) and I've been so weak and lethargic.

Also, it's causing me extreme pain in my eye. When it throbs or I touch my upper and lower teeth together, it feels like my eyeball will shoot out of my head!

I'm feeling better Gene. Thanks for asking. The throbbing has stopped, which probably means the nerve has died. And I'm feeling perkier. I'm still going to wait for the 9th for my appointment. (tempted to skip it now that the throbbing has stopped, but I'll go :( )

My boss at one of my jobs ticked me off the other day and I up and quit. Good thing I'm the boss at the other job and I can schedule myself more hours. Now I just have to let the new guy go (my first firing  ) So needless to say there is drama aplenty around here.

On the doodle front, well what can I say? Is there such a thing as the terrible twos at 7 mos? Cause my darling little guy I bragged so much about has turned. He is in trouble 24/7, and the word "no" doesn't seem to phase him anymore. He terrorizes cats and chews anything he can get his lips on. He jumps and humps and kills us with his claws. He's lucky we love him so much and trust he will outgrow this phase, or he'd be in dire straits. The other day I was on all fours looking for a shoe and he lept from the bed full force onto my back. Yikes! 50 lbs of doodle doing a swan dive onto your back really hurts! It's a very long drive to obedience classes around here, probably a good 40 miles or more. But he's on the verge very soon.

So how's everything with you?

Compared to your "fun"....paradise! I only have a few bruises from taking the kids on a double leash to watch friends play softball. Jonah "elbowed" me in the shin and the two of them wrapped me up and i have a leash shaped bruise on my left knee. Besides that, since the yard is fenced now and the weather is better, their antics are mostly on the outside now!

7 months does start the teenage years. The only hope is patience and exercise! Glad the throbbing has stopped in the tooth. DO NOT MISS YOUR APPT!! On the back jumping, not funny, but I did get a visual that caused a small grin......
