Hi Cassie,
I am sorry that you are going through this with your puppy. It makes every one miserable.
I agree that you might want to change foods...allergies can be caused by so many things and they can happen over night. It can't hurt to try.
I am glad you are seeing your vet because you do need to rule out anything serious, however, I agree that you can spend a lot of money on tests and meds and still get nothing but an educated guess.
So, I would continue to get the medical attention suggested by your vet, but try switching foods and see if that doesn't help.
You could also try a little bit of pumpkin...not pie mix, but canned pumpkin. Maybe 1-2 tbs once or twice a day...starting at the lower amounts. Many breeders use this to calm an upset tummy in puppies and dogs. It can't hurt! Good luck!

Wow, Bridget! Great information...you are certainly the voice of authority here! I am glad that you kept looking for answers and it sounds like you found the right ones.
This information helps me too because two of my dogs has yeast infecitons now...caused by our wet, wet winter and probably a reaction to foods and I have been wondering how to go about finding the right one. So, thanks!
Plus...it is really nice to see a post that rivals mine in length!
