GENE , you and I have studying up to do on our cameras now hahhaa
"Our" camera is sooo good, it basically calculates the settings for you! I think the only setting I set on the photo of Dakota with the kids, was the action setting on the top dial. I have been trying to experiment with different settings. I spent a lot of time trying different settings for this photo. Which is "special" because it was 6:30 in the morning and 6 degrees! I'm going to try to set up a site to store the same photo at different settings so we can use those as a basis to better understand setting differences. If I finally get thatr put together, I'll open it so you can look at mine and maybe add your photos to it. (By the way, that is not a vapor trail--it's a very strange cloud formation.)
Right now, I have my spotting scope on two bald eagles sitting on the ice over part of the lake. When the get hungry, they will walk over to open water and snag a coot for lunch! They are in the middle of the lake--probably about a mile from me and ever with tthe 600mm on my Nikon, I can't get a clear shot. Dear Santa . . .
