Just bought my pup a new bed for his crate.. Really nice and soft.. He appeared to sleep well on it..
He is 5 months old..
I just get a call from my dog walker that he chewed it to shreds..
:) It lasted only 3 nights..
He is 5 months old.. Is he too young for me to start buying him nice bedding for his crate..
I used to have a towel in there.. But not as soft..
Thanks..

we don't put anything shreddable, soilable, or otherwise damageable or ingestable with our doodles in their respective crates. they don't even get toys other than hard rubber ones like kongs -- otherwise i might worry that they could chew off a piece and choke while i'm not around. they sleep just fine in there without anything cushy to lie on. our 2-year-old sleeps outside the crate at night on his dog bed, with the option to sleep in the crate if he chooses. eventually the young pup (5 months old now) will be allowed the same freedom.

we learned with all 3 doodles.
NO bedding inside crate..........but we do have several dog beds lying around different rooms of house, they're intact and doodles love them.

I guess I am lucky. I took Samantha's bedroom dog bed pillow that she had been sleeping on in my room and put it in her crate after about a week. She has done fine with it.

Ditto this for Ozzie. Ozzie DOES have a nice bed which stays in our bedroom and is his designated special place to sleep through the night. He initially chewed it a little and tore the zipper off the casing, but after 3 months, it's still 99.9% intact. But no bedding goes in the crate.

At 6 months Sadie didn't destroy the fake lambskin type of crate liners that they make. She likes that a lot and it makes her crate much quieter too without her nails scratching the bottom of it.
That's the only thing she hasn't destroyed!

he s out of the crate now..but, while he was in it..we just threw in a couple of beach towels..and now..next to the bed he lays down a fleece
blanket..

the prior pad was foam filled..he open d the zipper and pulled out the filling and chewed it up :x REALLY..nothing is safe while he s in the house..and i ll normally keep him in the same room as i when were home..
