Our labradoodle is 4 1/4 months old and seems to bark a lot. We are reading and trying to use the Skete Monks, as well as Cesaer Milan's methods, but to no avail. Have you any tips about curbing that behavoir?

Hi Ann!
Welcome to the land of Doodleheads!!! Everyone here is helpful and so much fun!
I commiserate with you and the barking problem...we're going thru the same thing with Raleigh! He's about the same age as your puppy....
We had a meeting with the trainer at Petsmart, (Raleigh is starting classes next Tuesday) and she seemed to think that turning away and ignoring him might help, also a 2 minute 'time out' in his crate....praise him when he's comes out, and if it starts again, he goes back in....but she said that the key to this is consistency...hahaha...a little annoying when you're trying to watch a movie, but it has to be done!
What's your new Doodle's name? Please post pictures when you can!

Nice to meet you Ann.

Like Sessa...i taught max in 2 days how to HUSH and it works.
in beggining when he HUSHED i gave him a treat. Did this for 2 days. NOW all i do is say HUSH and hold my finger to my mouth and NO treats either. It comes in real handy the past 5mos.
