HELP!!! Jonah will NOT leave the sock bandage alone!! It's supposed to be covered and dry til the stitches come out. I'm trying not to cone him. The wound and staples look great, but even with bitter apple and bitter yuk....10 minutes max!! The only thing that works is the booties, but they don't breathe. In the 15 minutes I was outside hosing off the drive, he removed the sock and the most if the bandage with out removing the bootie. Should I have named him Houdini?? The vet is closed so I can't get advice there. You guys have never let me down before.....what do you think??

Thanks in advance.....

Sign me a tad stressed out....

GENE......STOP right now and use the cone!!! for both your sakes!! :D
I mean this is why you bought it right? so use it, that way Jonah's foot heals with no infections and you can stop worrying. hey he can't chew anything in the house then either.

Just a thought....

What if you bandaged the OTHER paw too? He might go after the 'new one' and leave the 'old', boring, been-there-did-that one alone.

Either that, or you'll at least have a 50/50 chance of him messing with the wrong bandage!!

...but then again, he'll likely just go after both of them....ahhh, nevermind. Thinking cap back on.

I think Annmarie is right...time for the cone. When I work tomorrow night...he's gonna wear it. If I'm here, he doesn't bother it if the boot is on and doesn't touch it at night. Guess I'll have to force myself to spend quality time with him.....DARN!

He's got three and they're in the upper part of the webbing he tore between his toes. I guess I'll use the cone.....

Hot sauce? HA! My cocker Peche LOVED IT!! I finally had to use plain black pepper with him on things he chewed....he HATED the sneezing. With Jonah, since the bitter apple and bitter yuck doesn't slow him down...don't know about the hot sauce. Maybe I'll try it later

I have to agree with the others. Doc had his front dewclaws removed at 4 months of age and had bandages on both front legs. I HAD to use the cone even though we ALL hated it! Sorry there isn't a better solution. Oh wait, Jac mentioned a new kind of "cone" that was like a ring filled with air around the neck so they still couldn't reach things. That sounds alot nicer than the "cone".
